Report on the conference

On March 30, with support from the community, Solis held a mental health conference at Mitchell Park Community Center. Students, parents, educators, and policymakers discussed mental health challenges facing young people in Palo Alto.

The report described Solis as founded after the pandemic by Palo Alto high school student Dolly Wu, who wanted to help peers struggling with mental health. Speakers and groups included Anne Cribb, Nicole Chiu-Wang of DreamCatchers, Gunn High School teacher Laurel Howard, Project Safety Net, and Momentum for Health. Students joined breakout discussions on social media pressure and academic stress.
